Drive Forward Apprenticeship Program Program

Overview: The Drive Forward Apprenticeship Program by DuMonde Helping Hands Foundation is a transformative initiative designed to provide individuals from underserved communities with hands-on vocational training in commercial truck mechanics, PreTrip and PostTrip.

 

This program addresses the growing demand for skilled labours in the trucking and logistics industry while empowering participants with the skills needed for stable, well-paying employment.

 

Program Components:

1. Training Modules Participants will complete a structured curriculum covering:

• Engine diagnostics and repair

• Brake systems and safety protocols

• Suspension and alignment techniques

• Electrical systems troubleshooting

• Preventative maintenance strategies

2) Training will combine physical onsite, hands-on practice, and real-world case studies to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.

3) Estimated Costs to the youth registrant or participant is 100% FREE

 

Program Timelines

• Launch Date: July 2025

• Recruitment: April - June 2025

• Training Cycle: • Duration: 6 months per cohort (2 cohorts annually)

• Cohort Size: 10-20 participants per cycle

• Apprenticeship Placement: Ongoing, starting after the first 6 months

 

3) Partnerships and Collaborations To ensure the program’s success,

DuMonde Helping Hands Foundation will collaborate with:

• Local Businesses: Partnering with trucking companies and repair shops to offer apprenticeship opportunities and potential job placements.

• Educational Institutions: Collaborating with trade-certified designated CVSE licensed accreditation and Commercial truck repair facility.

• Industry Experts: Engaging certified mechanics and industry professionals to serve as trainers and mentors.

• Community Organizations: Working with other charities and nonprofits to identify and recruit eligible participants.
