Kids Engagement Program

The Kids are Our Leaders of Tomorrow

The Kids Engagement Program is a core initiative of DuMonde Helping Hands Foundation, dedicated to supporting young children, particularly those from immigrant and refugee families, by providing opportunities for social integration, education, and emotional well-being. This program is essential to our mission of helping families feel welcomed and empowered in their new Canadian communities.

Our Program Overview

Our Kids Engagement Program offers a wide range of activities and events designed to provide children with safe, fun, and educational experiences. These activities foster emotional, social, and cognitive development by creating an environment where children can connect with their peers, learn new things, and explore their creativity. The main components of the program include:

1. Kids Christmas Carol:

Each year, children participate in singing Christmas carols, spreading holiday cheer within the community. This event also serves as an introduction to Canadian cultural traditions, helping children understand the significance of the holidays while promoting inclusivity and a sense of belonging.

2. Periodically Movie Entertainment:

Periodically, children come together to enjoy family-friendly movies. These movie days include post-movie discussions and activities that encourage teamwork, creative thinking, and sharing cultural experiences, providing a well-rounded entertainment and educational experience. In addition, refreshments are served.

3. Seasonal Events and Celebrations:

We organize seasonal activities throughout the year, such as arts and crafts, outdoor games, and holiday-themed events. These activities not only engage children but also give them an opportunity to learn about Canadian customs, further promoting social integration. In addition, refreshments are served.

4. Learning and Development Activities:

Through storytelling, arts, music, and drama, teaches how to in commercial painting. These programs help children develop key skills like communication, creativity, and problem-solving. These activities aim to strengthen both their academic and emotional development, giving them a solid foundation for future success.

Program Goals

• Foster Social Integration: The program allows children from diverse backgrounds to interact, make new friends, and build empathy. By promoting inclusivity, the program plays a key role in supporting the integration of immigrant children into Canadian society.

• Support Emotional Health: Immigrant and refugee children often face challenges as they adapt to life in a new country. Our program creates a supportive space where they can feel safe, build confidence, and express themselves.

• Encourage Personal Growth: We aim to help children develop life skills such as teamwork, leadership, collaboration, and self-expression. These skills are important for their personal development and will help them thrive in various aspects of their lives.

• Strengthen Community Ties: By bringing children together through these activities, we help create a strong sense of community and belonging, fostering positive relationships that will last a lifetime.

Benefits for Children

The Kids Engagement Program is designed to have a direct and lasting impact on the children involved. Participation in the program will help children:

• Form lasting friendships with their peers and the local community.

• Learn about Canadian culture and values, enhancing their sense of belonging.

• Develop key life skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration.

• Engage in activities that promote emotional well-being and personal growth.

Collaboration with Local Partners

To ensure that the Kids Engagement Program is as impactful as possible, we collaborate with other community organizations, and volunteers. Our efforts are also supported by generous donors and community partners who share our commitment to helping immigrant and refugee children.
